I can't see Tiger Woods or hear his name without picturing Chris Rock in 'Down to Earth' popping into the room in his golf gear.
Since about noon on Black Friday, everyone has been talking about Tiger Woods. Tiger Woods now holds the record for consecutive days on the front page of the New York Post. The previous title holder? 9/11. Are you kidding me??? Tiger Woods extramarital affairs are more news worthy than 9/11? Disgusting.
Let me get the rest of my Tiger Woods aggression out of my system and you'll never hear about him from me again. I want to call a few people out or as the kids say these days, put a few people on blast!
First up, women in news media, I call you out. When the story first broke, women in news media everywhere said "How could Tiger cheat on his wife? She's a Swedish model. She's so beautiful." These are the same women who say "Looks aren't everything. It's what's on the inside that counts." Let me say up front that cheating is wrong and Tiger is a scumbag, but if you really feel that looks don't matter, then why would you mention how hot Tiger's wife is? It's irrelevant. Looks matter or they don't. You can't have it both ways.
Next up, Tiger Woods, I call you out. I realize Tiger Woods never has to work another day in his life and as long as he manages his finances properly, his children (the legitimate ones anyway) will never have to work a day in their lives. His great grandchildren will never have to work for that matter. If he wants, he has enough money to spend the rest of his life behind closed doors. I don't think he wants that. He is too close to being the winningest golfer of all time. He wants it. He'll be back.
But where has he been? Why no speaking to the media? Why put out a statement that you are taking an indefinite leave from golf during your off-season? Who is advising this guy? He needs to take a page from David Letterman's book. His story broke on a Friday, on Monday's show he spoke about it. On Tuesday it was a dead story.
This Tiger story has grown wings. According to the New York Post, it's bigger than 9/11. He needs to do us all a favor and face the media now. He cheated (a lot), he got caught, now be a man and take your medicine. This story will never go away. If he comes back to golf in March 2010 or March 2015, he will still have to answer questions about it. Get it over with.
That's all I have to say about that. If I don't write again before hand, have a Merry Christmas.
